OpenFashion
Co-Creating a Sustainable Future
through Open Design
the project
OpenFashion is a three-year Erasmus+ Capacity building VET project designed to boost innovation and sustainability in the fashion and textile sector through open design, digital fabrication, and green skill.
Fashion and design are increasingly focusing their efforts on addressing crucial contemporary issues such as sustainability, digital transformation, and social inclusion.
The impact of these disciplines on the world around us is significant; for this reason, it is more necessary than ever to enhance their potential in support of the twin transition and new business models.
Although the sector shows growing awareness of these issues, addressing these challenges concretely is complex due to established and often unsustainable practices, such as those found in the fast fashion supply chain. Overcoming these obstacles requires new educational systems and the development of targeted skills, aligned with market needs and the growing demand for sustainable fashion.
objectives
OpenFashion aims to strengthen Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Continuing Vocational Education and Training (C-VET) providers in fashion design by equipping them with the skills, tools, and collaborative frameworks needed to support the twin transition toward sustainability and digital transformation. The project promotes the exchange of best practices between Europe and the South Mediterranean region, contributing to the modernization of fashion education through the integration of open-source design, co-creation, open business approaches, and innovative digital tools.

Reinforce cooperation between local, national and European stakeholders in VET/C-VET
